Disney Volunteering

Neil, Aubree and I had a great time last night volunteering for a company called Feed My Starving Children. We put together food bags that contained rice, soy protein, dehydrated vegetables and chicken flavoring. It was an assembly line fashion.

You start out by putting a food bag on a funnel (Aubree's job). One person scoops in the chicken flavoring and the dehydrated vegetables (Neil's job). Another person scoops in the soy protein and rice. Then you take the bag off the funnel (Aubree's job). The bag is passed to the person at the scale to be weighed (my job). Once the bag is weighed and more is added in or taken out (also my job), then the bag is passed on to a person who seals the top and then they are boxed. Our 2 hours of service last night from the whole group of volunteers (there were about 100 of us) will feed 69 people for one whole year. We packaged about 25,000 meals. That is amazing! We all enjoyed being there.

We did it through Disney's Give a Day, Get a Day program
(Give a day of service and get a free day at Disneyland).
All that fun and we get to go to Disneyland too.
What an amazing program!!
