Arches National Park

On our way out to Utah at the end of June, we decided to take the kids to Moab to see Arches National Park. Neil went to high school in Moab and he worked at the Visitor's Center here. Neil and I spent a lot of time in Moab while we were dating, engaged and after we first got married because his family was still living here. So many fun memories. We thought it would be fun for the kids to see Arches.


They had a lot of perfect hikes for our family. They give you a newspaper as you enter that lists the different hikes and their level. We stopped at most of the shorter, easier hikes. They were perfect. Most were 30 minutes round trip.


We couldn't have asked for a better day. There were blue skies but lots of fluffy clouds and there was a steady breeze and the low 80's.

I believe this one was called Double Arch and is in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade movie.

Delicate Arch is one of the most popular Arches and hikes there. The hike that brings you right up close is about 3 hours. We might have to do that one next time. We did the one that got you about this close to it.

Our last stop was Sand Dune Arch. It was shady and had the softest sand ever! It seemed like an indoor play place. We all took off our shoes and sunk our toes in it.

I think this one is called Balanced Rock.

It doesn't look like there is much holding this huge rock on.
